I have been a Fnb customer for many years and I was retrenched in 2011 and i claimed account protection as I have been paying my account regularly and when i started working in 2012 my direct debits went off as per normal and at the end of 2012 i was retrenched again and i put through the claim again in January. I am
the only person who was working in my house hold and am getting uif. I have now received a text msg from fnb stating my claim has been declined. When calling the call centre i was advised that you can only claim once for retrenchment. I have checked my terms and conditions and it does not state that you can only claim once for retrenchment. If the policy is part of your installment how can you only claim once. If you are paying this monthly. I have a 2year old daughter and am looking after my father so i dont know how FnB can tell me its declined if I have sent all forms through. I am thinking of taking this further and i am really upset. This was not once explained to me at all and how is a person to know that i would be retrenched again this is really service 3 months down the line they want to inform you that the claim has not been processed.
