Ive got a business account with Standard bank and my Dad went to Westgate Standard Bank to draw out money for a supplier. He drew out an amount of R8000 and left the teller. Before leaving the bank a armed man approached him and told my Dad to follow him and not to make a noise. My dad out of fear complied. The armed robbers accomplices then joined them and took my Dad on a joyride and robbed him of the R8000. The dad went to the police station and laid a report and he went back to Standard bank to tell them what happened and the staff said that because it happened in the bank he will get his money back and they will check the cameras etc.
My Father since then has been to Standard Bank twice to find out as to whats the story and Im not getting any joy from you guys. Surely it doesnt take almost 2 months to check camera footage!!!
Further more why does the bank not have proper security at the branch or metal detectors like every other bank? Does Standard Bank just assume its safe because its inside a mall?
