Standard Bank closed my Fiance's account without his knowledge. All sms notifications were closed as well so he couldnt see that money was withdrawn from his account.
He went to the bank to report the closed account, only to find that there was no money in his account. He asked for a bank statement to see where the money went, but the transaction didn't reflect on the bank statement, no one could explain where the money went.
He was told that this would be investigated. He kept going back to find out whats happening, because no one would call him to give him feedback. It was found that this was an inside job and they promised to pay him back. This happened in June and he still doesnt have his money back.
Everytime he goes to a Standard bank branch, no one has answers as to why he hasn't been paid yet.
He went to the head office to try and resolve this, but that was pretty useless because he wansn't even allowed to see them for security reasons, he had to call them from reception and didn't go through anyway!
No one should bank with Standard Bank because they have a poor security system. They their client's money!!! I have 3 colleagues who went through the same thing.
