I called to inquire about a home loan with FNB a few weeks back. The lady to whom I Spoke did a credit check on me to see if my credit score was in order or they wouldn't be able to process the application. I needed a score of 750 to qualify for an individual home loan which i had so she sent me the application and said I should return it with an offer to purchase. I decided to use ooba instead and they did my credit profiling and found I have a score of 830. After all the running around and all the paperwork my application was finally submitted only to have it rejected because I'm seen as a high risk applicant. how can someone with an exemplary credit profile be considered high risk? I called their home loan department and was told they can't see anything out of order and told me to call transunion to find out whats happening. So they reject my application with no form of explanation other than I'm high risk yet I have fill their requirements for a successful home loan application. I switched from Standard bank to FNB a year ago because I thought Standard bank was pathetic, but I have to say FNB isn't any better they even rejected my credit card application!! RIDICULOUS!!!
