ABSA Internet banking FAIL

So last week I logged on to my internet banking account and decided to use the de-link function to take off my Islamic savings account from my portfolio so as to limit my access to the funds and not spend wildly. This week I needed to link the account back to my portfolio to transfer some money to the account. For some reason the account did not appear on the options to be linked. After further enquiries I was told that the account had a semi dormant hold on it. This can only be taken of at the branch. How can an account be active one week and then the next week have a semi dormant hold on it!!! It would make some sense if didn't transact on the account for 6 months but clearly this isn't the case. Sms's are sent every time money enters and leaves the account so why can't they send notification when a hold is put on? I suggested that to the lady at the Absa call centre to which she said they have escalated the same problem but to no avail. Now I must go all the way to a branch, sacrifice my time, stand in line for an hour all to have hold removed at the click of a button. Its utterly ridiculous, should rather close my account!!!
