On the 22nd of October 2013 my account was accessed (sim swapped by) and cleaned out of R43 008. The account is an Absa savings. Absa could only recover R158.00 which was credited to my account on the 11th November 2013. All my debit orders at the end of October were returned unpaid. On the 29th November I went to buy some groceries and was embarassed when my card was declined. That was very strange because I had enough money in the account to pay for this particular transaction. I tried the ATM and still could not withdraw money. When I got home I logged onto my internet banking and tried to cash send money to pay garden services, and got a message saying account was on hold.
This morning I went to the branch and was told the person who put a hold on my account is off and will hopefully be back on Monday. Again it's the end of the month, all debits are again returning unpaid with dire effects on credit rating. I cannot even pay the helper and garden services and they solely depend on this salary.

What is happening Absa? Why is my account on hold? You couldnt block a from my account, but you block my account for no reason, why not inform.
