Money withdrawn from my bank account illegally

On the 15th of March 2013 around 9:39am i Fikile Mokoena went to the ATM situated at McDonald in Commercial Road Pietermaritzburg to withdraw some money from my account.i inserted the card in the ATM and entered my pin code and my card was swallowed by the ATM and i never received my money, i tried pressing cancel but the card didnt come out, immediately i received an SMS notification saying that R4000 has been withdrawn in Durban, once again, another SMS came through saying a purchase of R390 has been made at Vineyard liqour store in Durban. I then phoned the bank requesting them to cancel the card and i was advised to go to my nearest branch to fill in some documents. I then went to the bank and reported the case, which they gave me forms to fill in and one i had to take to the police station and i was told by the bank consultant that my case was gonna be investigated.on Wednesday the 20th i then phoned the bank to find out about the outcome of the investigation and i was told that i am liable for it then i asked the consultant that how could i be liable for my card being swallowed by the ATM and then my money being withdrawn in another town 90KM away from where i was in just 5minutes
