Mission Impossible to change my contact details!!

I currently work in Canada but have been trying for weeks now to get my details updated (Postal details). The call centre cannot understand the high cost incurred every time I make a call back to South Africa (and get put on hold for 30 minutes at a time or passed on from person to person). They also have difficulty in understanding the difference in time zones (I must get up and make calls from 6am in the morning to phone back to SA)
Finally I get through and the person tells me they only accept a posted letter sent in to them with the changes. I'm shocked - I just spent all this time explaining that I keep posting off change advices and it never gets there. Normal post cost me $20 (R150 which I've done twice now). To have a letter couriered from Canada to South Africa will cost $220 (=R2000!)
How can they expect me to pay that kind of cash to have my postal and email details changed? This is ridiculous.
