I had my account with ABSA bank for almost 9 years. I opened a student cheque account when I started my studies. The service back in the day was great, and costs reasonable. The last few months I have been paying very high banking costs. All that I was told, that I am still on the student cheque account and that I pay for everything, and if everything is added up it is correct, no explanation was given, I feel that there are hidden costs, deceiving us. Honestly, how can students pay from somewhere in the R20 pay and then the last 2 months over R200. The difference is almost then times more, and no prober help and assistance was given, one would expect better service and I feel no matter the age, that we all should be treated the same. It does not mean if we are young we are ignorant.
