ABSA is the worst bank ever. I have had issues with high account costs before. I was promised by The Branch Manager, that I was entitled to R180 account fee, in 2012 this went up to R200 per month. In December 2012 I was contacted by an ABSA representative to offer me a new discounted package on my platinum account (R149pm). I checked on my internet accounts and up to date more than R590 has been deducted from my account by ABSA. Thes costs are listed as Management fees, account fees, admin charges, ledger fees and monthly service fees. This bank blatantly to you about costs, they never follow up on any complaints and are in generel just pathetic. I will be closing all my ABSA accounts by the end of this month.
