ABSA: Worthless even to the last second

I closed my ABSA account recently, finally! To my dismay I was charged over R120 for closing the account. The amount is supposedly for monthly banking costs in arrears?? Let me get this straight - so when you open up an account at this silly bank do you get your first month's banking costs free? I didn't, so how on earth can they charge me R120 for costs not covered? Do we as clients not pay banking costs for each month at the end of that month? Anyway, I'm done with ASBA and all their hocus pocus. II am much happier where I am now. I should have done this a long time ago. If you read this and you are a client at ABSA, then you know all about frustrations and overcharges and long queues. It's easy to switch to another bank - it took me 15 minutes. It is really worth it. I pay 3 TIMES LESS banking costs than I did at ABSA, and I have never waited in a queue for longer than ten minutes. I have wasted time staying with that stupid bank. Also, at this new bank I don't pay silly management fees? or internet banking fees plus monthly fees. I pay one small amount per month and I get better service than I ever did at ABSA. Bye bye ABSA, may we never do business again.
