I accidentally did an eft to the right person wrong banking details. I went to FNB to get the money returned sat for 45 mins completing forms, then was told that there would be a charge of R204 for the request to be submitted but it is not definite that they will be able to recall the money but would be charged that anyway.
I completed the form and faxed it off only to get a response an hour later to say that FNB cannot recall money from a public account. The staff that assisted should have been able to tell me this before wasting MY time filling out forms, and allowing R204 to be taken from me.
I would think that your bank should be there to HELP you as a client instead they protect the government account the money was paid into.
I will be investigating procedures at beep bank and the likes of to see if they would be able to better assist then will be moving my account. The service from FNB over the year has definitely reached an all time low.
