Credit balance magically turns to debit balance

Hello

In August 2013 I went to the Standard bank branch in Mowbray and requested that they please close my gold master credit card and please transfer the remains credit balance of /- R200 to my FNB cheque account. After speaking to a consultant she said that "we cannot do it here in the bank" and that I to phone customer care. I did find this extremely strange but agreed to phone in and do the cancellation telephonically. After spending 20 minutes on the phone the decision to cancel was made and I give my banking details so that my money was transferred. After that I still continue to receive statements and the last one date October 5th (Sept 5-Oct 5) indicated that I had a credit balance of R204-92. It also showed credit interest of 3 cents!! As I have not used the card at least my money is still in the account and I may still receive it. So in Jan I receive a letter demanding payment of R50-00! Now how is this possible, I have not used the card and for some reason the R204-92 has not been depleted!! There has been no monthly charge against my card- now where has my R204-92 gone? The bank has some serious explaining to do or else it is a magician that makes money disappea
