Cant take money out of my account

I opened a bank account online on the 21st of January. I then received my card via courier on he 20th of February and was told my account was open and I just had to go the the closest branch to activate my account and set my limits. I went to the Chatsworth branch where they proceeded to tell me that my account was in fact closed. There are funds in the account but they say that I am not allowed to have the funds. They now want me to get an affidavit just to get my money. I find it very unfair as the money is mine.
