I decided to move all my banking over from ABSA to FNB... I went to FNB Woodlands Boulevard Branch end of January 2013 to request all my existing debit orders on my ABSA savings account, to be switched over to my FNB Savings account. I handed them a copy of my ABSA bank statement with a total of 11 debit orders to be transfered over. Well, end February no debit orders went through, also none on 1 March 2013... I telephoned the bank on saturday 2 March to enquire, they said they cannot assist until monday, the persons working on debit order switching only work mon-fri. The bank did call me on monday... huge appologies from the customer service chap, passing the buck to the debit order switching department... with a promise to have it sorted asap... well no response thus far?? My concern is, my track record is now flawed, I am not insured and my life insurance will not pay should anything happen. Also all debit orders still went down from my ABSA account, no funds was available, hence I have now all the insuffient funds billed to me... who knows what other penalties I have now against my name... I call this incompetance... FNB is famous to advertise how easily I can switch to them??
