First National Bank
Debit order Switching and Competition entry

I am very disappointed with FNB. I am a new customer who has fallen prey to the allure that is created by a very clever marketing strategy.

A note to anyone who believes that FNB will help with your debit order switching - Please do it yourself.

I was supposed to be able to enter into a competition for completing my debit order switching within a month from joining FNB. My part was done, and I have now closed my previous bank account. I am now in month 4, and I have had to manually switch debit orders, and pay huge amounts for returned debit orders from my previous bank. I have to had to pay over R800 in fees because of the debit order switching not happening over the last three months.

I have had to do eft's and switch some of my debit orders myself, and left two debit orders untouched to see how long it will eventually take FNB to do anything.

Finally today, more than 3 months later I get an sms to say that they received my request for debit order switching!

This is the SMS I should have received a day after the application with a warning to not close my previous bank account (So i should have paid the bouncing fees for 3 months?)

To anyone who wants to switch - beware.
