Accounts blocked due to negligance

Standard bank informed me via email that they want to upgrade my check account to a "prestige account" in order to secure higher fees, the mail says that if you don't reply you will be upgraded automatically which is absolutely ridiculous to start with. I replied to mail and said "don't upgrade me, I am an expat working in Mauritius and I can't deal with it now". I got a reply from a consultant that acknowledged my wish.

Then on the 27th of Feb I got upgraded! All my cards blocked, Internet banking blocked, no money! New cards not ready so it doesn't matter that I am abroad anyway. Since I now have a "prestige banker" if have exchanged 20 plus emails with him and other consultants. Its now 4 days later, I still have no access to money, only excuses the the tune of the system cant reactivate and reinstate the old cards and account status blah blah we are sorry blah blah no money. Thanks standard bank, I had a great weekend so far.
