So aunt in law banks with Capitec and someone fraudently took money from her account. she went to go report this and she was told that she would have to prove that she didnt have a contract with this person allowing them to debit her account and was given some number to contact of this . now my issue here i have worked for 2 banks and never in my life have i ever heard of a customer having to investigate her or his own case of . the bank should be doing this for her. all the same she has tried to contact this and as can be expected the phone just rings and is not answered or if it is answered she never gets a straight answer as to who the person is and why her money was taken. she has gone as far as to go to 2 branches and talk to the branch managers and they have told my aunt that they cannot help her as they do not know that she did not allow this person or persons to debit her account. this is utter nonsense. is just that . how is she supposed to know who her money from her account and how to obtain it back? should capitec not sort this out i plan on assisting her to take this further in court. utterly disgusted
