Default for not activating current account

I am so disgusted and very unhappy with the way that FNB had dented my credit record. I opened a current account in May last year, and activated the account. but the service that i got made me not to take up the account anymore. and i requested that they close the account when they kept on calling me, cuase i never even went and fetched my card. Now in January when i was applying for a bond, i found out that i have a default that FNB placed on my name in October last year without even informing me that i need to pay R453 or they will write it off. I'm so disgusted and angry to say the list with the way they handled this.
