My mother passed on, my brother & myself buried her, later I got a call from Standard about a certain person calling themselves my mother's spouse claiming for her death. When they called me I told them my mother has no spouse, I went there myself to the branch and they told me they are investigating the matter, then they never came back so I followed up with them only to find out that they paid the so called spouse money claiming that he was paying for the policy so they decided to pay him, I want to know how the investigations went because they were supposed to find out how he got the deceased documents from the undertaker (whom I suppose was paid to issue). Is it not a case of you pay a person for burial responsibilities, waht did this person do with the money if we have already buried our mom. How does standard bank insure a spouse who doesnt have the same surname as the deceased? I want to know how sta bank works because our parents are insured without our knowledge.
