My parents are in a oldage home and were advised to sell their Sanlam shares, because they need the money. My mother phoned Computershare and she was told what to do to have the shares paid out. It was done, the documents were send by courier and Computershare received them on 25/1/2013. When I phoned a week later, I was told that no documents were received, and the account was blocked for FICA reasons. Again they were told to send documents, which were also send by courier and received 5/2/2013.
Every time I phone, they say the account is still blocked and that I should phone "next week! " This has been going on for 2 weeks now. Last week I was told that there were no ID's of my parents, I told them it was send with all the other docs included in both envelopes. When I phoned today, I was told there were still a problem with this account. I insisted to speak to a manager, but was told that a supervisor will phone me. I insisted that she (Rachel) should phone me within a hour, but I was told that she is busy and she (Mamello) can't promise that. I think this is pathetic, my parents need the money, because my dad is terminally ill! Do they care - I don't think so!!
