In April I wanted to transfer my shares to FNB, which I couldn't do at the time because Computershare required me to FICA my address first. Computershare received the registered post with all the required documents on the 18th of June 2013. I subsequently called to confirm that all the documents were in order (the lady checked and all documents were in order) and I was told it would take 7 working days to process.
It is now 1 July 2013 (9 business days) and still nothing happened. I phoned the complaints department and the lady on the phone simply said that Computershare would phone me back in 48 hours.) I am surprised by the lack of professionalism at Computershare. They operate far worse than many government departments (Internal affairs Cape Town, Licensing at Bellville) where I received service within the promised deadlines. Hopefully I would never have to deal with them again. In the future I can only advise anyone to always ask if Comptershare will be the custodian of the shares BEFORE you purchase [URL Removed] makes shares more illiquid than property, thats for sure!
