I closed my credit card on the 14th of Jan, after paying the full settlement amount. Whoever closed the account didn't bother to cancel the debit order for my credit card payments, so on the 1st of Feb my cheque account was debited for just over R1300. I realised what had happened today, phoned in, and the consultant said that it was an error and would be refunded, but in 3 to 7 working days. This was not my mistake, and I'm short by R1300, but I have to wait till sometime next week for it to be fixed? Not acceptable.
