I just opened a credit Card with FNB. I was charged a fee of R135 for opening the card. I was then told that that money would be refunded to my account if I spent R500 or more in the first month of opening the card. I spent the R500 but the R135 was not refunded so I decided to phone customer care. I was then informed that the money would only be put back in my account after three months. This was not stated in the phone call I recieved to open the account (which I was on the phone for nearly and hour which is ample time to inform me of this), nor was I informed on the email I received a few days ago. This has made me rethink what bank I am going to be using from now on. FNB needs to hire some consultants who inform a customer properly before they agree to open a new card. I am seriously thinking of changing banks.
