Imas neglected/failed to update the excess waiver premium on renewal date of my policy, which was October 2022.
As per Imas, the excess waiver premium per vehicle should have been adjusted from R94.92 to R135.00, but this was never done.
Imas now expects me to pay the difference in premium for the past six months before they pay the excess invoice that was supposed to be paid more than two weeks ago.
The excess invoice amounts to R4000.00 and if Imas updated the policy correctly than the R4000.00 would have been paid in full and with no issues.
I fail to understand why I should be held accountable for Imas’ negligence. The fact that the premiums and cover amount was not updated correctly was not my mistake.
My husband and I have been with Imas for so long and we have always made sure that the Imas debit orders go through as requested by Imas.
Imas managers, Karlette and Marelie is always too busy to speak to Imas policy holders/customers even after numerous requests to speak to them or attempts to get hold of them.
