UTTER BULL$H! T FROM ABSA! PATHETIC BANK!

I requested a SETTLEMENT figure from the Absa call centre agent on 23 January 2013. FULL payment was made on that day. I then requested to have the card cancelled, however, the agent said that I would need to call back to cancel the card after payment reflected on their side, which I accepted. I was NOT told by the agent that I would need to call within a specific period to have the card cancelled. So I called back today (06 Feb 2013) to have this credit card cancelled. I was then told by another call centre agent that my account was no longer fully paid as I now owed Absa R10, 60 in "fees". When asked what these fees constituted, he said it was interest AND fees on my garage card. Firstly, HOW DO YOU CHARGE FEES ON AN ACCOUNT THAT HAS A ZERO BALANCE!?! Secondly, I HAVE NEVER OWNED AN ABSA GARAGE CARD EVER IN MY LIFE! I explained this to the agent who then proceeded to tell me that I was being charged for the garage card for a number of months! SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER SEEN, OWNED, OR USED! What utter frustration and ridiculous service! PATHETIC, USELESS BANK that is in effective money by charging for something clients HAVE NEVER USED! I am LIVID!
