Basically I was told that I would qualify for 10% back on fuel purchases if I opened a FNB check acc and a minimum of R 5000 rand was paid into the account each month. That was in 2011.
Now I only get 1% back and after inquiring why FNB told me that I had to comply to certain criteria like on line banking, swiping my card more, don't withdraw more than you swipe etc.
I started doing everything that the lady told me accept for moving my debit orders as I never intended to move my banking portfolio I just wanted to use the account as a petrol card and get the 10% back that they said I qualify for but I still only get 1%.
I then made an inquiry at E bucks themselves to ask what was wrong and they told me a whole different story about receiving at least 5000 points per month to move up a level and that would only take me to 2.5%.
I now know that I will never qualify unless I switch everything to FNB.
My problem is that If the lady at FNB had told me this when I asked about the fuel kickback rewards I would never have opened the account in the first place but they are so eager to get new business that the mislead you into opening an account.
So I just want to warn other people!
