I was involved in a minor accident with my car, which resulted in a scratch at the front door. I reported it to SA Underwritters- they sent an assesor who concluded that the cost of the damage is R15800. To my shock, SA Underwritters told me that my excess is R15500; which meant that SA Underwritters only get to pay R300 towards the repair. What kind of an insurance ask for 98% excess???

I did not fix the damage.
A week later I was involved in another accident which damaged two doors on the same car. SA Underwritters sent the same assesors to assess the car. I was supprised to be told that the total cost of the damage is R8865. The consultant called and told me that my excess is now R14500. I was told the excess is above the damage cost therefore they cannot repair my car.

SA Underwritters---- how possible is that one door costs R15800 but two doors cost R8865? according to me this is. Please repair my car because I pay you each month.
