First National Bank
FNB offers credit card upgrade and later declines

On November 21 2013, FNB credit card division called me to notify me that I qualify for an upgrade on my Credit Card. Namely a shift from Gold to Platinum, which an increase in credit (R50 000) a lower interest rate (15 percent). I indicated that I accepted the offer. Alot of time went by, and I heard nothing from them, and so in January I went into Canal walk branch to call from their telephone banking line. The people who I spoke to at the Credit Card division passed me on from one person to the next, several times putting me back through to the main menu where you select from numbers guided by an automated voice. A few times I even had to call back as the line cut. Eventually, after much pleading for help and answers, I spoke to a consultant who said that the credit card upgrade had been declined, which is preposterous, as they had offered me the upgrade. In an attempt to find out how this happened, they did the same rigmarole of passing me on to more and more people and eventually gave up. I would like my upgrade and I would like an apology, and also I hope that FNB credit card division could train their staff better. Their staff seem to know nothing.
