Confusion with Credit Card Issuance & Delivery

My credit card is due for expiry at end of month.

Issue 1:
No one from the bank contacted me. I needed to call. Card division said to call before collecting.

Issue 2:
Today after speaking with person at card division two sms's came through.
'The cellphone number on your BLUEBEAN card profile has changed to xxx. If this is incorrect contact us urgently on 0860121131'
First sms contained my correct number but the second contained a number I did'n know.
Next half hour was wasted speaking to Call Centre staff trying to determine if my bank account had been compromised.

Issue 3
Card division transferred me to courier division. Instruction was card is waiting at Killarney.
The teller at Killarney who tried to activate the card said it was a hot card and could not be activated. We called card division and they said card has been upgraded to a gold card and I must come in 8 - 10 days to collect.
Issue: I never requested an upgrade and don't want one, I need a valid credit card in interim and I'm concerned electronic payments from card will not go thru. Serveral hours of my time are wasted.

Issue 4
No bank manager available at Killarney to followup with & my details not taken.
