In November 2012 I contacted ABSA telephonically requesting for a cheque account (existing customer) which I supplied the consultant all my information & she said someone will contact me within 48hrs, 4 days later I still hadnt received a response in which I contacted the bank again only for a differenct consulted to tell me this cannot be done telephonically I need to go into the branch which I went to Bryanston branch only for them to tell me they dont have consultants. So I contacted ABSA again and spoke to a lady by the name of Sinhle who said I can apply telephonically for the cheque acc she resubmitted my info & will follow up personally & get back to me. A week later I still hadnt received a response which I contacted ABSA again & demaded to speak to someone who deals with the applications which I did & had to re-submit all my info again only to tell me the system requires me to go into the branch to identify myself!! So I went into the branch this morning only to wait almost 2 hours to see a consultant (Mariette Ellis) who required me to complete a load of documents who said she will submit after hours as she is busy and will let me know if approved to return to the branch.
