Cell statements incorrect

Noticed with horror yesterday that my balance on my cell phone changed by a few thousand rand. I check my cell every time after a transaction to ensure that I do not overspend and to ensure there are funds particularly now when my children need items for school, only to find that a large amount had been taken off. I contacted standard regarding this and was told that previous purchases did not come off (however they did reflect on my cell) now these were taken off in a lump sum. The consultant apologised for this but it was a technical difficulty and happened since December and many people were affected. Why did standard not inform their clients of this (an sms would have meant so much I would have been aware of this problem and could plan). I don't understand how these amounts were not taken off as the cell showed deductions. As a client of 20 years (good service) I am so disappointed. At present I do not feel safe with regards to cell statements and use of my card. In addition my card was declined this morning, having gone through my receipts, there should still be funds... embarrassed and disappointed!
