Nedbank
Banking whilst Overseas Nightmare Continues

Following on my previous complaint to HelloPeter...

Where prior to my leaving to work overseas, Nedbank supplied me with a debit card that can't be used in stores outside of SA.

Two weeks have now passed since my documents were dispatched to Nedbank in Cape Town.
The branch claims to have not received them yet, which is strange - letters posted to SA from Spain take as little as four days to arrive?

Enquiries to the bank have drawn this response:

"Once I received the documents I then first have to convert you transactor acc to a savvy acc and the conversion takes about a calendar month before I can order you the debit card."

A month to convert my account? BEFORE they send me a card I can use? For which they wanted a R1000 for postage?

They're joking right? Unfortunately it appears they're not.

This is Nedbank service.

This is what you ACTUALLY get when you buy into their ads of 'green' efficient, friendly service.

It's a lie.

Obviously it's more profitable to have me drawing money from ATM's all the time (and paying exorbitant bank fees) than it is to supplying me with a debit card which I can actually use to pay for things here in Europe?
