I recently opened a savings account at Capitec. I was quite impressed with the service at the branch and the helpfulness... until my mastercard online shopping would not register. I went back into the bank to resend the numerical code needed to register online after waiting four days. The consultant told me I should get it within 30 minutes... I did not. I called the call center to find out why I was not getting the sms and to avoid going back to the bank. To my horror the lady who answered the phone started SHOUTING at me. I was beyond shocked; never in my life have I been shouted at by a cal center person! I called the branch manager immediately who also was pretty pathetic about answering my questions. He clearly has NO idea what is going on in his own bank. Certain facts given to me my the consultant who had helped me earlier he was not aware of. Personally capitec needs to jack up on customer service and customer etiquette. Perhaps more training would help!
