My elite cheque account: I had to close my cheque account due to a few debit orders that I was not aware of on Nov 13. Once I requested to close the account they told me that I have to settle the overdraft. I asked them to reverse all my debit orders.. After the reversal they asked me to wait for 24hrs for the system to update and they also asked me to which account must any credits due to me go to? I told them to transfer the balance to my credit card for now. Thinking that all will be in order so that I can use my credit card for the month of Nov till my next pay day in Dec. I tried to use the card but was declined. I phoned the cards division and they told me that the card was stopped/cancelled and I must get it re-instated. I tried that but was declined. I asked them as to why was it stopped/cancelled? They told me that I was in arrears for six months. I asked them to prove to me what amount was in arrears? To my knowledge it was only for two months which was in arrears for such a small amount of R600.00. I normally would have paid it at the end of November. To date I have sent them mails but nothing. Still waiting to use my Nov salary.
