I went in to the Woodmead branch to cancel my gold credit card (and account) since I no longer need it and I was told it would take 5 days to cancel. That was over a month ago. I received a SMS today that my R28 fee was taken, so I logged on to online banking only to find that my credit card is still active and so is the account! I have cancelled the card on online banking now but it is unacceptable that I must now waste airtime again to phone FNB or waste time going into the branch again to 'recancel'. What if the card had been from the garbage while I was under the impression that it had been cancelled? Especially since I received a printed statement that it was being cancelled.
