PLEASE HELP

Being a very proud person, its quite difficult for me to feel like a beggar... begging old mutual for a scrap/claim settlement.
I was medically boarded on 31/10/2014 due to a serious of blackouts and fainting episodes.my license was revoked by the traffic under instruction from the hospital as I was a danger to myself and others. I have subsequently been medically boarded by my company. the claim was sent to old mutual (been paying since 2007) and the company had another policy covering me due to job expertise. my question is why does it take so long to have acclaim settled and they always looking for more documents. the cost of documents at a hospital has come from my pocket.?? my debit orders are being returned, my cell has been disconnected and I'm most likely to loose my house too as I don't have an income anymore..we can plan our retirements but we cannot plan when we get sick or die..
I have always paid my premiums on time but when it comes to claims...???
is this what old mutual stands for? /
the doctor said I'm not physically disabled although I struggle to walk and tend to topple over anytime, hence no driving or workin on machinery etc... help please
