Deposited money to an incorrect acc numbe

I was transferring funds to a friend, due to a typing error I captured 14 instead of a 40 on a cellphone number used to pay a friend. I immediately called the person that I wrongly paid and he confirmed that the money was indeed in his account and told me to rather go to capitec so that they can transfer the funds back into my account. I then called them and was given a ref. number, made a follow up today and was told they couldn't get hold of the client as yet, I then asked the staff member who was helping me that, what if the client has lost his cellphone and doesn't make a follow up since its not his money anyway, I was then told that would mean I have lost my money. I am extremely unhappy with the outcome, I feel they haven't gone an extra mile to assist me.
