Last night I transferred money and accidentally put in one incorrect digit, The funds went through to the wrong person. I called the Capitec Bank call centre immediately and they told me that they would try and reverse the payment. This morning i get an sms that they (Capitec bank) have no authority to reverse the funds and that i should contact the other client. What i don't understand is that other banks are able to do reversals as the authority of the acc holder. How come Capitec is unable to do so, Its ridiculous to think that the other banks take care of their clients and yet in this case the client is expected to take care of the, selves... I'm not impressed!
