I moved to standard bank over a year ago from FNB but am now regretting changing from FNB to Standard. On September 2013 i updated my standard banking details with Telkomobile my service provider for debit order of R199.00 Between September 13 to December 24 -2013 standard bank have joyfully and consistently charged me R115.00 for failed debit orders in total of R1610.00 even despite the fact i reported to my branch to stop the debit order on Oct, up till now my account is still vulnerable as the charges are still eating up my acc dry which baffles me a lot.

It is like standard bank found it joyful to rip off poor customers with these type of charges..as my bank knows the status of my account and cannot simply follow an instruction stop a debit order dully reported at the branch.
Before i moved to standard bank, i had a smooth run with my former bank without any exorbitant charges like these even if the fund was short.
Now i have been receiving several calls on regular basis about my account being overdrawn just because of these charges which is embarrassing to me as i haven't overdrawn any money.. So pathetic.
