On 20 Dec Nedbank Incoming Global division confirmed that they had received notification of an international payment I was expecting, and clarified that payment instruction was set for Monday 23 Dec. I called on the Monday to confirm the Rate of Exchange and was told I would have my funds within 2 hours. 2 hours later no funds. I called again to be told that the funds had not been released, and that it would take 5 minutes. 20 Mins later still no funds. Then manager, Thuli told me that the funds would only be released on the 24th at midnight. On the 24th at 08h30 funds were still not in. I called again.. while i was on hold for Thuli (after having to explain the full story) for about 3 mins, I was told that the funds were in, I refreshed my feed and lo and behold there it was. Thuli confirmed that my funds were physically sitting with Nedbank on the 23rd but that they would only release it on the 24th. Nedbank was holding onto MY MONEY without my permission when they were supposed to release it the moment it arrived into their account. Unethical practice? Yes!
