Empty promises & now legal threats

Early this year I applied online for an account with FNB. I was contacted by a FNB sales person and only reason I accepted and made it very clear to them was that they would be able to open a credit card acc with the same credit limit as what I have with my current credit card @ ABSA they confirmed that I would qualify and also offered addition of 2 petrol cards I accepted these and when it was time to collect my card at FNB jeffreys bay fountains mall branch I went into branch to collect card they gave me my new cheq acc card and when I asked about the credit card and petrol cards that I was rudely told that I should have come in branch to apply the consultant then informed me that I only qualify for way under the agreed amount but she would see what she could do about it till this day I have heard nothing about the credit card and today I went to pick up a registered letter from the post office only to find out FNB is threaghning to take legal action if the outstanding amount of R675 was not payed within 35 days bearing in mind the letter only arrived at post office on the 12 and the letter was dated a month ago. Threats despite telling them to close the account.
