I had a claim approval (policy number 7777 91338. It was assigned to a panelbeater, and today I was supposed to collect my Hyundai Getz after repair by the panelbeater and give it away (because i am leaving the country soon).
I collected the car and went to a hyundai dealer. While the repair work appeared fine (the right doors were damaged and the repair work was to replace with new doors as per the call I had with Budget). Hyundai dealership pointed numerous errors in the work:
1. The doors are not properly aligned into the car body
2. The paint for the job work is a slightly different shade
3. There appears spraying with the wrong paint on other parts of the car as well (such as a roof)
4. The Hyundai dealer claims that the doors have probably not been replaced but just fixed
Now, Budget is saying I can go to the same authorised panelbeater to get rework. But my problem is I am leaving the country, and my car hasn't been fixed properly, and I cant give it away either. Plus, I dont think I trust the panelbeater anymore, even though it is "authorised" by budget.
I dont know what to do, and feel quite sad about the experience. Is this really consumer protection?
