BAD service by FNB

On the 21st February 2013 my wife oppened accounts for our 2 daughters to save pocket money and other She was told that the Fluid accounts have a R5/month service fee, and if more than R500 it is free. Since then we never received statements (by mail or electronic).
On the 18th November my wife received an SMS stating that the balance of the account is to low. She went to the branch to be told that the service fees is R23.50 a month! Josta Free stated she will investigate and take up to see if money can be refunded. Needless to say after 2 weeks nothing has been done. My wife spoke to the branch manager, now the fee is apparently R23.50 up to R500 and R5 if balance is more than R500.
Now my daughters have lost all their money and the attitude is: Sorry it is your problem!
How do you teach your children to save money if banks are not doing what they promise, and take all their money!
I want the service fee money (more than the R5) returned, as you cannot children's money!
