Not fulfilling his promise

A few days ago I found out that the accounts opened for my children 14 and 9 years ago gave them absolute no interest on these accounts - these were transactional accounts- not required when children are babies.
On 26/9/13 I went to Absa Table View to try and find out why this was done and why nobody ever contacted me or my wife to give us advise on the accounts as they were dormant except when money were deposited into the accounts. After their explanation that nobody ever checked it I wanted to close the account and move to a different bank. I was promised by the manager Mr Nathan Veenendaal that they would reimburse both accounts with R500 it was decided to open new accounts for investment. The promise was that both accounts would be credited with R500 on 26/9/13 at closing time. On 27/9/13 at 13:00 both accounts were check but no money was paid in. So Absa can promise but they can not deliver.
