Paid up Default - unable to provide Paid up Lette

In 2012 I settled a default that FNB listed me for. Since I have disposed of the deposit proof, but I have never recieved a Paid up Letter. Now when I'm requesting a Paid up Letter they are unable to assist me. Please Help!
