No-show credit card machine

We are a small business in the decor industry that recently held an exhibition at a well-known mall in the east of Pretoria. We contacted FNB two weeks before the exhibition to arrange for a credit card machine for on-the-spot sales. After consultants at FNB continually promised us that the machine would be delivered on the first day of the exhibition, it in fact never materialized. This led to a loss of revenue for us and left us red-faced with potential customers. We phoned FNB constantly during this time, being assured every time that their technicians were very busy but were on the way and would definitely install the machine for us. Eventually, on the second day of the exhibition (a Saturday), a consultant advised us that FNB technicians do not work on Weekends! The following week, 25/11/2013, we complained to FNB about this and were advised that the bank would investigate the incident. We are still awaiting their feedback. This is shocking service from a bank that spends millions of Rands on advertisements targeting small businesses. We intend on closing our merchant account with FNB following this incident.
