On the 7th August 2013 i went to the FNB ATM to withdraw a small amount to pay for my parking ticket. The machine i used jammed and some guy who used the ATM before me tried to assist when i politely requested him to back off. He retreated and apologised. I decided to use the second machine which after i keyed in my pin, jammed. I cancelled the transaction and tried again. It jammed but only this time i could not get my card back. I then alerted one of the bank's consultants about the matter and she reassured me that there was someone attending to my query. After about 10-15minutes waiting at the ATM (not moving away from the machine to prevent other customers from using it), i received an sms alerting me that there had been R8000 withdrawn from my account. I ran inside the bank shouting for help and there was no one to assist until i decided to go to the business side and just before i got assistance from a consultant, another R4000 was withdrawn. The consultant cancelled my card but i had already lost R12000. This is a huge bank with no security guards at the ATMs. I was told by one of the consultants that there was no need to have a security at the door because the ATM
