I had just begun a new job, and on receiving my contract, I went into the bank to enquire about the status of my cheque account because I had not been using it much. I went into the Sandton Branch on the 6th of November, and informed FNB that I was to receieve a salary on the 25th, and the lady who helped me, made a note on my account that it not be closed in case it may be rendered inactive by the 25th.
On the 25th of November, at midnight I receieved a notification of my salary being deposited into my account, and made numerous transactions during the day. Using a number of modes, E-wallet, EFT and swiping. I went into the same branch twice to get a new pin, and get a new internet banking pin on the 25th.
On tuesday however I recieved a call to say I must ensure my salary gets deposited or my account will refelct as. This made no sense to me as it had been deposited, btu apparently there was no record of such a deposit according to Petunia from FNB credit. I used my card later that day to pay for a dinner at a restaurant, only for it to be declined due to insufficient funds. I was stranded, and had to go without money for another day! WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION!
