Leaving your client in the lurch

My Cellphone number has been changed, I have no control over that. So I called in to change my number for mobile banking and to receive my account notifications on.

I explained clearly that as I am in the road construction industry I am hundreds of km away from the nearest Capitec branch and it is not possible for me to go to a branch to change my number. So I got told that if I was out of the country they could help me but not while I'm in South Africa... Really? Right now its closer for me to drive to Botswana than it is to get to a Capitec branch. Shall I do that and phone you from 50m the other side of the border...?

Do the people who make these stupid rules even think through the practical implications of them?

Especially after I have just changed my salary payment to my Capitec acc this is really poor. How am I supposed to do my banking now? Or shall I just go back to FNB where I can change my number online?
